Application Instructions for Iron-On Garment HTV Transfers

Thank you for purchasing our Iron-On Garment HTV Transfer! To ensure a successful and durable transfer, please follow the instructions below:

Materials Needed

  • Iron-On Garment HTV Transfer
  • Domestic iron (without steam)
  • Cotton fabric garment
  • Clean, flat, heat-resistant surface
  • Timer or stopwatch (or, just count in your head!)

Preparing the Garment

Start by choosing a cotton fabric garment that is suitable for ironing. Ensure the garment is clean and free from any dust, lint, or wrinkles. Iron the garment if necessary to create a smooth surface for the transfer.

Placement of Transfer

Lay the garment on a flat, heat-resistant surface such as an ironing board or table. Take the Iron-On Garment HTV Transfer and carefully peel off the clear plastic sheet to reveal the adhesive side. The adhesive side is the sticky side of the transfer. Position the transfer on the desired area of the garment with the adhesive side down, ensuring the design is facing up and in the correct orientation.

Applying Heat and Pressure

Set your domestic iron to the hottest cotton setting and ensure the steam feature is turned off. Place the iron directly on top of the plastic (which is heatproof) covering the transfer. Apply a good amount of weight and force, pressing down firmly on the iron for about 15 seconds. Make sure to repeat this process over the entire transfer area. Avoid re-heating the same area more than once, as this could potentially evaporate the adhesive and compromise the durability of the transfer.

Hot or Cold Peel?

  • For transfers labeled as "Cold peel" colors, ensure the transfer has completely cooled down before peeling.
  • For transfers labeled as "Hot peel" colors, remove the clear plastic sheet while it is still hot, immediately after ironing.

Find Touches

After removing the clear plastic sheet, inspect the transferred design to ensure it has adhered correctly to the garment. If any parts of the design are not fully attached, cover the area again with the clear plastic sheet and apply additional heat and pressure using the iron.

Congratulations! You have successfully applied the Iron-On Garment HTV Transfer to your garment.
